Fertilizers and pesticides are the main means of production for agricultural production and play an important role in increasing agricultural production and income. However, it must be applied scientifically and rationally to improve ergonomics, fertilizer efficiency, and efficacy, and the goal of doing more with less is achieved. Blindly mixing and applying it will adversely affect crop growth and may even cause phytotoxicity. Therefore, the “Four Don’ts†should be mastered when using chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
First, alkaline fertilizers such as ammonia, lime, and ash must not be mixed with pesticides such as trichlorfon, dimethoate, verapamil, thiophanate-methyl, jinggangmycin, carbendazim, leafhopper, and pyrethroid insecticides. Because most organophosphorus pesticides are prone to decomposition under alkaline conditions, their efficacy is reduced.
Second, chemical fertilizers should not be mixed with microbial pesticides, because chemical fertilizers are volatile and corrosive. If they are mixed with microbial pesticides such as A. cereus and B. cereus, it will be easy to kill microorganisms and reduce the control effect.
The third is alkaline pesticide lime sulfur, Bordeaux mixture, pine resin mixture, etc., do not mix with ammonium bicarbonate, ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate, ammonium chloride and other ammonium nitrogen fertilizer and superphosphate, etc., otherwise it is easy to make ammonia volatilization loss. So as to reduce fertilizer efficiency.
Fourth, arsenic-containing pesticides, such as calcium arsenate and aluminum arsenate, should not be mixed with potassium salts and sodium salts. Otherwise, soluble arsenic will be produced and phytotoxicity will occur.
