The University of Tübingen Medical School announced on the 23rd that the school's researchers found that by destroying the stability of a protein complex, it can effectively kill liver cancer cells.
C-MYC protein plays a key role in cancer, and the corresponding gene is also an important oncogene. More than half of human cancers are associated with elevated levels of C-MYC protein. Therefore, the scientific community has been looking for drugs that inhibit C-MYC protein, but it has not been successful. Researchers at the University of Tübingen Medical School have found a way to reduce the level of C-MYC protein in cancer cells. In animal experiments, researchers have successfully killed liver cancer cells using this method.
The results were published in the latest academic journal Nature Medicine in the UK.
