The storage and transportation of broccoli

1. Storage Characteristics Broccoli is also known as broccoli, green vegetables, and broccoli flowers. Its edible green balls are soft, rich in vitamin A and vitamin C, vitamin B1, vitamin B2, and phosphorus, iron, and calcium. Other elements, which are high-grade vegetables in the international market, are more popular than broccoli. In the 1980s, China produced a large number of successful species, and domestic sales increased gradually. It is also one of the major vegetable varieties for export. However, due to its edible parts are young pedicels and small buds, post-harvest flower buds at room temperature are easily yellowed and are more difficult to preserve than broccoli. 2. Harvesting and post-harvest treatment of broccoli formed in the flower bulbs, full growth buds, not yet exposed crown, and the flower buds at the edge of the flower buds are slightly loose when the harvest is appropriate. Collect 3-4 young leaves around the flower ball during harvest to prevent the flower ball from being damaged during transportation and keep the flower ball tender. Do not water before 2 days of harvesting. Spraying the bulb with 0.001%-0.002% cytokinin in the field on the day of harvest or the day before the harvest can delay the discoloration and senescence of post-harvest flower buds and sepals. It can also be treated with preservatives (0.002% cytokinin + 0.2% sodium benzoate) after harvesting, but it must be stored in the pontoon until it is air-dried. The broccoli used for storage requires that the floret florets are compact, greenish, clean, free of mold growth, and have no insect eyes. 3. Harvesting and post-harvest treatment Broccoli should be pre-cooled in the pre-cooling room immediately after picking, dressing, and preservation. The most critical measure to prevent broccoli from discoloration, ageing, and prolonged shelf life is to place it at low temperatures as soon as possible after harvest. In the room temperature (20-25 degrees Celsius) 1-2 days flower buds will lose green to yellow, so it is best to be reduced to 1-2 degrees Celsius within 3-6 hours, through the method of rapid pre-cooling at -17 degrees Celsius Reduce the temperature of the dish to a low temperature within 5 hours. The broccoli can be directly packaged in a polystyrene foam box and placed in the warehouse immediately after the box is packed, or the wax box is used for the outer packaging. The inner package is packed with a 0.03 mm thick polyethylene film single flower ball, if necessary, on the bag. Playing 2 small holes can get a good spontaneous atmosphere. With polyethylene bag sealing and silicon rubber window, ie, silicon window method, the inner package can control the carbon dioxide content in 5%-10%, and the storage effect is better. 4. The optimum storage temperature for storage and transportation of broccoli is 0-1 degrees Celsius, and the relative humidity is 90%-95%. Under this environmental condition, the above packaging can be stored for more than 30 days. The transport of broccoli also requires the use of a refrigerated truck, but the temperature should not be higher than 4.5 degrees Celsius, otherwise the buds will soon be yellow. For the storage and transportation without refrigeration equipment, add ice cubes in the box immediately after harvesting, add ice to 1/3-2/5 of the total volume of the box, and transport it to the destination as soon as possible. During the storage of broccoli, a certain amount of ethylene is released. This gas accumulates in the storage environment and accelerates the aging of the buds. Storage management should pay attention to timely ventilation.
