The Qilihai Crab is produced in the Ninghe District of Tianjin and is a specialty product in Ninghe District. It was named after its growth in the Qili waters of the Ninghe District of Tianjin. Qilihai is a typical ancient lagoon wetland in the Bohai Sea in China. The water is clean and rich in trace elements, making the Qilihai crab very good quality. The Qili Haihe crab was a tribute to the palace as early as the Qing Dynasty. Because of its rich nutrition, high protein content, and low fat content, it was deeply loved by the people of Tianjin. In 2002, it was named Tianjin Famous Brand Agricultural Product. In December 2006, the State Administration of Quality Supervision and Inspection Approved the implementation of protection of GI products on Qilihai River crabs.
The Qilihai crabs like to live in caves in the muddy banks of ditches. The acupuncture points are tubular, with an inclination of about 10° from the ground plane. There is water in the depths, and the caves are 20-80 cm in length and 2-15 cm in diameter. . Crabs have a variety of food habits, like eating fish, shrimp, snails, clams, and grains. They especially like to eat young fish, shrimp, and snails. When they find food, they pinch the food and send it to the mouth, and then use the second pair. The tip of the foot held the food, delivered it to the third pair of feet, and then to the big scorpion. The scorpion cut or grated the food and sent it to the import. The crabs breathe with fleas and lie down on the left and right sides under the head and thorax. Most of the inhaled water passes through the base of the chewing foot and enters the iliac cavity. It then flows out of the mouthparts. After the crabs leave the water surface, the air is mixed with water through the sacral cavity and is ejected through the breath to form a lot of foam. In the annual Mid-Autumn Festival, the crabs are the breeding season for the “seven times and eight times†of the lunar calendar. Mature female crabs must be quail-shelled once before mating and spawning to be able to mate with male crabs. Gradually, female crabs undergo mating. Hard, with the preparation for spawning, each year from December to March of the following year is the peak season for mating and spawning of crabs. In general, female crabs lay eggs at a water temperature of 9-12°C for 7-16 h after mating, and a body weight of 100. ～200 g of female crabs can produce 200-900,000 eggs at a time. When the temperature is appropriate, eggs can pass through five stages of juvenile larvae and a large larval larvae to become juvenile crabs for about one to two months.

According to the "Provisions on the Protection of Geographical Indications Products," the AQSIQ has organized a review of applications for the protection of geographical indication products of Qilihai Crab. After passing the review, it was approved to implement the protection of GI products on Qilihai River crab from December 22, 2006.

The scope of protection for geographical indication products of Qilihai River crab is based on the scope of the letter of the “Delimitation of the Geographical Indication Product Range Scope of Ninghe County's Qilihai River Crab†issued by the Ninghe County People's Government of Tianjin (Ninghe Zhengxun [2006] No. 28). Subjects are Lutai Town, Dabei Town, Qilihai Town, Beihuai Detachment Town, Table Township, Aichi Town, Panzhuang Town, Ninghe Town, Lianzhuang Township, Miaozhuang Town, Ninghe District, Tianjin City, Fengtai Town, Yuelong Town, Banqiao Town, and Dongfangshu Town have jurisdiction over 14 administrative districts.

Breeding crabs should be physically strong, strong vitality, complete appendages, no damage; female crab weight more than 100g / only, male crab weight 120g / more than male and female ratio of 2.5:1.

It is neat in size, robust in body, responsive in appearance, smooth in appearance, complete in appendages, and free of parasites. Big eye larvae used for crab cultivation, specifications 15 to 200,000/kg; crabs used for crab breeding, specifications 120 to 300/kg.

1. Clear pond disinfection: In early March, remove excess silt from the pond and disinfect the pond.
2. Deduction of crabs: In mid-and late March, stocking crabs. There is no more than 500 crabs per 0.067 hm in stocking. At the same time, it can be used with fish, mainly filter and omnivorous fish.
3. Feeding: mainly aquatic natural bait, with soybean meal, corn and other plant feeds.
4. Water quality regulation: regular use of quicklime to regulate water quality, kill germs and maintain water quality indicators. The water depth is 1.0m to 2.0m, the transparency is equal to less than 30cm, the dissolved oxygen is equal to more than 3mg/L, the pH is 8.0 to 8.8, and the ammonia nitrogen and nitrite are both lower than 0.1 mg/L.
5. Growth period: not less than 5 months.
6. Specifications: male crab ≥100g/only, female crab ≥75g/only.
(6) Quality characteristics.
1. Sensory indicators: body shape well-proportioned, nearly square, crab body thick, hard and shiny carapace; back grayish, abdomen milky white; crab sauce purple, fat creamy white, crab meat white and tender, delicious.
2. Physical and chemical indicators:
Male crabs: crude protein ≥ 15.5%, crude fat ≥ 9%, fullness ≥ 0.54 g/cm3, and gonads ≥ 2.2%;
Female crabs: Crude protein ≥16%, crude fat ≥11%, fullness ≥0.48g/cm3, and gonads ≥6.0%.

Producers within the scope of protection of the geographical indication products of Qilihai River crabs may apply to the Ninghe County Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau of Tianjin for the use of the “Special Marks for Geographical Indication Productsâ€, which shall be approved by the AQSIQ.
Since the date of this announcement, all geological inspection authorities have started to implement measures for the protection of geographical indication products of the Qilihai River crab.
