Spring corn fertilization should be light before heavy

Basal spring corn should be based on basal fertilizer, supplemented by topdressing; farmyard manure mainly supplemented by chemical fertilizers; nitrogen fertilizer, phosphate fertilizer supplement; panicle fertilizer, grain fertilizer supplemented by the basic principles of fertilization.

Basal fertilizers should generally account for about 70% of the total amount of fertilizers. Most of the phosphate fertilizers should also be applied in combination with basal fertilizers. Generally, they are used in combination with autumn ploughing in the previous year. When basal fertilizer is applied, it should be uniformly mixed with the soil. If nitrogen fertilizer is used as a base fertilizer, it must be deepened to prevent loss of nitrogen volatilization. In phosphorus-deficient soils, 450-600 kg of calcium sulfate is applied per hectare; in potassium-depleted soil, 150 kg of potassium chloride is applied per hectare; in zinc-deficient soil, 15 kg of zinc sulfate is applied per hectare.

Before spring sowing of fertilizers, a small amount of farmyard manure is used to match the appropriate amount of nitrogen and phosphating fertilizers or applied as a corn seed fertilizer.

The top-dressing spring corn is top-fertilized by the “pre-light and heavy” fertilization method, ie applying 1/3 of topdressing before the jointing of corn, applying 75 to 150 kg of urea per hectare, and applying top dressing 2/3 during the big bell mouth period. Each hectare topdressing urea 150 to 300 kilograms, to meet the corn spike spikelets, floret differentiation and grain formation phase of the nutrient needs. The experimental results confirmed that the spring maize used the “before light weight and heavy weight” fertilization method, which increased the yield by 13.3% compared with the “pre-heavy and light” fertilization method.
