China's detection of lean meat can produce results in three minutes

The reporter learned from the ventilation meeting held by the Ministry of Science and Technology on February 29 that during the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, China has developed a number of monitoring technologies and testing products for “Clenbuterol” and other important illegal additives.

According to reports, China has organized and implemented a major science and technology project on "key technologies for food safety" and developed a rapid detection enzyme linked immunoassay kit and a colloidal gold test card for lean meat residue, which can be used in animal urine, blood and other samples of lean meat Residue detection. Among them, the colloidal gold test card product has the characteristics of high sensitivity, short detection time (3 to 5 minutes can produce results), easy to use, does not require any equipment and other features, and is easy to be grasped by grassroots detection units and slaughtering and breeding enterprises.

Currently, Clenbuterol rapid detection products have been widely used in major work and activities such as the National Veterinary Drug Residue Surveillance Program, as well as routine surveillance of lean meat concentrates in more than 30 provinces and cities, with nearly 2 million samples tested. Nearly 10,000 small and medium-sized enterprises such as aquaculture, feed, slaughter, and processing in the country are widely used in daily routine inspections, with a total of more than 200 million samples tested, which has improved the passing rate of products listed and exported.

It is understood that the price of the rapid detection product of lean meat produced in China is only about one-half that of imported similar products. In the past three years, the rapid detection of lean meat products has achieved sales revenue of more than RMB 300 million.

In addition, the reporter also learned that under the support of the National Science and Technology Program, China Agricultural University and related companies have jointly developed melamine, chloramphenicol, sulfonamides, quinolones, aflatoxins, and other enzymes that affect the detection of important food safety compounds. There are 58 kinds of ELISA kits and colloidal gold test cards, which have been used throughout the country.
