Food consumption complaints in Heilongjiang province nearly doubled in one year

The reporter learned from the Consumers Association of Heilongjiang Province that in the consumer complaints accepted by the Consumers Association of the entire province last year, the increase in food complaints topped the list, reaching more than 1,500 items, which was nearly double the year-on-year increase.

Liu Aizhi, deputy secretary-general of the Association of Consumers of Heilongjiang Province, said that the consumer associations at all levels in the province received 1,555 food complaints last year, an increase of 94.1% over the previous year. Food complaints have nearly doubled, which is closely related to the high level of attention people attach to food safety and food quality in recent years. It does not mean that the quality of food has fallen sharply compared with previous years.

Liu Aizhi said that the main problems in food complaints include: First, food labels, labels, and specifications do not meet the requirements, and some unauthorized changes to the production date, resulting in food moldy, deterioration and other issues within the shelf life; Second, the variety of additives in food The scope and amount of use do not meet the national standards. Some foods even abuse the additives that are banned by the state. Third, the sanitary conditions in food processing do not meet the requirements of food safety standards.
