Urea is a good protein additive for sheep. One kilogram of urea is equivalent to 2.88 kilograms of crude protein, equivalent to 5.6 -6 kilograms of soybean cake. Supplementing sheep with proper amount of urea is an effective method of fattening. So how do you manage the amount? One method is to directly feed the urea and the concentrate directly after mixing. The method is to feed the concentrate in an amount of 1.5-2% of the concentrate. Another way is to make a urea brick for sheep to feed. The ratio of urea bricks is 40% urea, 47.5% salt, 10% honey, 2.5% sodium phosphate, and a small amount of cobalt. The third method is to mix green feed with a certain proportion when feeding silage, and the correct proportion is 1000 kg of green feed plus 5-6 kg of urea. Special attention should be paid to the following points: (1) Grasp the amount of urea fed. The amount fed each day is 0.02% of the body weight of the sheep and does not exceed 1% of the dry matter in the diet. Serve 10-15 grams of sheep daily, 6-8 grams of young sheep aged over 6 months. However, the first feeding amount can only be fed at 1/10 of the prescribed amount, and then gradually increased to reach the prescribed amount after 10 days. (2) It is not possible to feed urea alone or feed in water, nor can drinking water immediately after feeding urea. Drinking water should be after 30 minutes. (3) Feed less or no feed to sick sheep and weaker sheep. (Hubei Liu Yuan)
